The sculpture I am alive at the Kistefoss Museum
The sculpture I am alive at the Kistefoss Museum stands sinuous and shining in the Norwegian nature
Like a being from another dimension , I am alive rises from the ground with a silky, undulating form. The shiny metal surface reflects its surroundings, transforming the forest, grass and sky into an abstract painting of color and light. It is as if nature itself is caught in motion, an eternal dance between the organic and the industrial.
It snakes through the landscape with an almost fluid ease, despite its massive form. Its polished chrome surface captures every glimmer of light, every nuance of the season that surrounds it. In the deep colors of autumn, with leaf-strewn grass and bare birch trunks in the background, the sculpture seems almost alive – as if it is about to rise, take a step, find its way forward.
I am alive is more than a sculpture – it is a reminder of the constant movement of life, of our own connection to our surroundings, of how we are reflected in the world around us. In the face of it, we become small, but at the same time more aware that we, just like it, are part of a larger, living whole.
